You can find unique Hawaii-inspired apparel at Alter Ego, Angels by the Sea, and Beach Avenue. Located in the heart of Waikiki, this shopping plaza features six levels of shopping and dining. The Waikiki Shopping Plaza is the place to go for all your shopping needs. Tickets cost a couple of dollars per trip, with day and multi-day passes available. Running every 10-12 minutes during the mall’s opening hours, it connects Ala Moana Center to 10 locations around Waikiki. The easiest option is to catch the Ala Moana Shopping Trolley to get there. The mall also offers hula shows, staged daily at 1 pm, free of charge. It houses three department stores: Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom, and a mix of international brands and local boutique shops. The mall has four levels and features koi ponds, tropical gardens, over 300 stores, dozens of restaurants, and two food courts. Located near Waikiki, the mall’s open-air design allows visitors to enjoy Hawaii’s mild climate while shopping. The center also houses the Royal Grove, a former coconut plantation that provides free daily music, hula shows, and cultural classes for visitors to join.Īla Moana Center is the largest mall in Hawaii and is said to be the world’s largest outdoor shopping center. Whether you’re hoping to enjoy some locally made treats from the Honolulu Cookie Company, savor a coffee, or relax with a glass of wine at the bar, there is something for everyone. It is just a 5-minute walk from the beach, occupying three blocks of Kalakaua Avenue. You can't go wrong with either and both Waikiki and AM have all the big names in luxe in close distance. The Royal Hawaiian Center is a popular shopping and entertainment destination in Waikiki. Gorgeous!!! IMHO, the Waikiki store tends to have a better selection of accessories (leather bracelets, enamel, horn) and the Ala Moana store has a better selection of small leather goods. This past week there was a Ciel 30 cm Birkin in Swift. I've visited both a lot lately and there's always a Birkin, HAC, or Kelly on display. I have excellent SAs and service at both boutiques. I consider AM my "home" base but I shop at the Waikiki store just as much. I'd say that the Hilton Hawaiian Village would be the hotel that's probably right in the middle distance-wise between Ala Moana and Waikiki-Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. My family often stays in Waikiki for fun and we walk from one end of the strip to the other. But I lived in Spain where people pretty much walk everywhere and don't own cars, so that's my perspective. Jedimaster-I guess everything is relative because I consider any hotel in Waikiki pretty much in walking distance of the Ala Moana AND the Waikiki Boutique.
